Join us for our Sunday Mindfulness Meditation – Our minister and ministers assistants will guide you through sitting, standing, and chanting meditations; this service is often closed out with a brief enriching message to sustain the spirit.

Sunday Friends & Family Service

A morning for all ages, a time to be together, to listen, to grow

Join us for our Friends and Family Service – Led by our minister and ministers assistants, this family-friendly service features chanting and a Dharma message accessible to all ages. After the service, children are often invited to participate in engaging activities hosted by our Dharma School.

Join us for our Special Services – Led by our minister and ministers assistants, these formal services mark seasonal observances and memorial occasions in the life of our community. Each gathering includes chanting and shared reflection, and often features a special guest speaker offering a message tailored to the meaning of the day.

 

Thursday Evening Meditation

Experience 750-year-old chanting re-imagined

Join us for our Thursday Evening Meditation – Beginning with traditional chanting, it guides participants to quiet the mind, then flows into simple breathing meditation, creating a peaceful space where past and present meet to restore balance and calm.

What To Expect

Here’s a quick overview to help you feel prepared.

  • We encourage you to watch the helpful video below before your visit. It walks you through the basics of our temple and service practices.
  • Dress comfortably but modestly. There’s no formal dress code.
  • During services, you’ll hear chanting and see rituals led by our ministers. Participation is completely up to you.
  • You might notice people using nenju (mindfulness beads) and wearing Monto Shikisho (embroidered cloth), these are used to aide in practice; they are optional, there’s no expectation for you to bring or use them.
  • If you’re not familiar with the chants or rituals, that’s perfectly fine, you’re always welcome to simply sit and observe.

  • We want you to feel welcome and at ease. Take your time, and enjoy the experience.
